About the role

As a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine, you will provide specialist rehabilitation medicine services within the Geriatric and Rehabilitation Services team at STARS. Working within your scope of clinical practice, you will deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care, supporting patients with complex rehabilitation needs while contributing to innovative models of care and excellent clinical outcomes.

You will play an important role in education, research, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will support the development of trainees and junior medical staff, participate in service improvement initiatives, and contribute to advancing rehabilitation medicine services across Metro North Health.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide specialist inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation medicine services within an approved scope of clinical practice.
  • Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and utilise contemporary models of care, clinical workflows, and digital health systems.
  • Support the education, supervision, and professional development of trainees and junior medical staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement, risk management, audit, peer review, and patient safety initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Foster research, innovation, and evidence-based practice through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and academic partners.
