This is an exciting opportunity to join Woogaroo Creek State School at a significant point in its growth, as the school expands to include an adjoining P-6 special school campus in 2027.

The Deputy Principal will be an inclusive and collaborative member of the extended leadership team, working across the school community to strengthen inclusive practices, support high-quality teaching and learning, and contribute to a connected culture where every student is known, supported and able to thrive.

About us:

Woogaroo Creek State School was constructed in 2022 and opened its doors to students at the start of the 2023 school year.

Our school name recognises Woogaroo Creek; our natural Eastern boundary of our school grounds, and a significant waterway that flows all the way to the Brisbane River and beyond. Woogaroo Creek is the site of significant cultural history for our local area.

Woogaroo Creek is proudly represented in our school colours, school logo, and student and staff uniforms.

Your opportunity:

  • Support the Principal in developing and implementing a shared educational vision focused on achieving quality learning outcomes for all students, and deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral role, embedding socially just practices and maintaining high standards of performance for students and staff.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with parents, government agencies, community groups, industry and business to support the school community.
  • Take a strategic and future-focused approach to school leadership, with an understanding of legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
  • Participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development, while managing resources effectively to achieve identified goals.
