Your new role:

As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical services across the Emergency Department and Sexual Assault service. You will manage complex presentations, provide expert clinical advice and work collaboratively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, sustainable and person-centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver senior social work assessment, intervention and discharge planning for complex presentations.
  • Provide clinical advice and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community services.
  • Supervise, mentor and support less experienced clinicians, students and support staff.
  • Lead quality improvement, service development and evidence-based practice initiatives.

About you:

You are an experienced Social Worker with strong clinical judgement and the ability to work confidently in a complex, fast-paced environment. You bring excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to supporting both patients and colleagues.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for AASW membership.
  • Demonstrated senior social work experience in Emergency and/or Sexual Assault settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritisation, communication and complex decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to provide supervision, mentoring and service improvement leadership.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours across a 24/7 shift roster.

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
