Principal Inspector (Electrical Safety Compliance)

Help improve electrical safety across Queensland

The Electrical Safety Office is looking for an experienced and motivated Principal Inspector (Electrical Safety Compliance) to join our Compliance team.

While electrical qualifications are not a mandatory requirement, we are seeking candidates with experience working in a compliance, investigations or regulatory environment. If you have a proven ability to interpret and apply legislation, conduct investigations, assess evidence and make sound, impartial decisions, we'd like to hear from you.

As a Principal Inspector, you will

  • Investigate electrical safety incidents, complaints and potential breaches of legislation
  • Prepare high-quality reports and recommendations and exercise regulatory powers under the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
  • You'll also lead complex investigations, contribute to strategic compliance initiatives and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to improve electrical safety outcomes across Queensland.

We're looking for someone who demonstrates sound judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters with professionalism and integrity. Experience in regulatory compliance, investigations, enforcement or a similar field is highly regarded.

Locations: We are flexible for applicants to based at either of our OIR Offices in Brisbane Region, Robina, Ipswich, Maroochydore or Toowoomba.
