QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
The Iteration Manager will play a critical role in the Build to Enable (B2E) Program by leading Agile ceremonies, driving the adoption of Agile practices, and enabling teams to deliver project outcomes efficiently. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to plan and execute deliverables, support continuous improvement, and strengthen team performance and delivery outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead one or more cross-functional teams, providing strategic guidance on the pragmatic application of Agile principles and practices to deliver program outcomes.
- Ensure teams are aligned on project and tranche goals, maintain a single agreed plan, and are focused on achieving key milestones.
- Organise team staffing and manage resources effectively, ensuring teams are adequately resourced to meet delivery timelines and achieve project objectives
- Identify and manage stakeholders effectively, ensuring clear communication and alignment with program objectives.
- Proactively identify, manage, and resolve risks, issues, and impediments to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop and implement backlog refinement, working with product owners to define and prioritise user stories, backlog items, and acceptance criteria.
- As the project lead, track and report on project progress, ensuring transparency and addressing challenges to meet delivery timelines that are aligned with the program's scope, objectives and strategic outcomes.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to prioritise requirements, scope, and daily tasks.
- Implement and enforce Agile practices and methods designed for the program, ensuring consistency and alignment across teams.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide expert advice and facilitate the creation and maintenance of robust documentation to ensure compliance with assurance and governance requirements for ICT-enabled investments.
