QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
This is a temporary position within QBuild's Build to Enable (B2E) Program, established to deliver a modern eco-system of business solutions. As the Subject Matter Expert for Finance, you will provide authoritative advice and specialist expertise across QBuild's operational financial accounting functions as a self-funded, commercialised business unit - spanning accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets and taxation - contributing to the design of the Program's foundational SAP Finance solution and working with senior stakeholders to drive best practice and alignment with organisational objectives.
Key responsibilities include
- Providing strategic leadership and expert advice on the relevant QBuild business domain, influencing decisions through analysis and recommendations to the Product Owner and governance forums.
- Facilitating requirements gathering and contributing to design documents relating to business processes and requirements.
- Leading development of business rules, process standards and improvement opportunities that shape the project's solutions.
- Leading the technical validation of “To-Be” processes and solution designs, supporting the Product Owner's determination of business acceptability.
- Contributing to data conversion, cleansing, collection and validation to support solution readiness.
- Contributing specialist input to the design of process scenarios for integration, system, user acceptance and performance testing, and to the development of training materials.
- Building relationships with domain stakeholders to support effective delivery.
- Contributing to the development of operational and, where relevant, strategic business reporting requirements.
- Participating in change management activities including capability uplift across your domain, identifying risks within your domain, and promoting Agile ways of working within the project.
