About the role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced domestic and family violence practitioner to take on a position delivering brief interventions support services to clients presenting with vulnerabilities.
You will be part of a broader specialist team of allied professionals delivering high-quality services to individuals, families and children in family law, child protection, domestic and family violence and related areas. The work is challenging and complex but rewarding.
In this role you will:
- Provide high-quality and trauma-informed crisis counselling, risk assessment, safety planning, information advocacy and referrals to external support services for persons who experience and use domestic and family violence to prevent family and domestic violence experiences.
- Attend Brisbane Magistrates Court and provide first contact and court assistance to people experiencing or using domestic and family violence.
- Provide the Application Assistance Program to draft applications for protection orders or variations of orders for persons who experience violence.
- Provide support to clients at the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia affected by domestic and family violence.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external domestic and family violence workers, mental health support workers, lawyers and litigation support officers to best support clients presenting with complex and intersecting needs and vulnerabilities and enhance their safety and access to justice in domestic and family violence matters.
