What you'll do

As the Technical Delivery Manager, you will lead the design, delivery and implementation of complex IM/ICT solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, best practice frameworks and organisational objectives. You will provide expert technical leadership and advice across specialised domains, overseeing the specification and design of large-scale systems and ensuring the effective application of appropriate design standards, methods and tools. The role is responsible for leading the assessment, analysis, development, implementation and governance of program and project deliverables, standards and procedures at an enterprise level, while managing the planning and delivery of complex technical changes and evaluating associated risks to infrastructure and service integrity. You will also lead and manage a team of specialist technical resources, fostering a high-performing environment that supports the successful delivery of strategic digital and technology initiatives.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

  • Demonstrated ability in leading a team providing high-level specialist advice on, and support for the following technology domains to analyse, provide technical direction, standardisation, professional advice and support of enterprise ICT services in a large customer focus organisation         
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the deployment of large or complex systems and providing expert knowledge in relevant design standards, techniques and methods and tools for large scale complex organisations. Demonstrated experience in the deployment of patient administration systems (PAS) and PAS integration is preferable for this role (SFIA Skill: DESN: Level 5, METL: 5)
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation planning of changes for large complex IM/ICT program/project(s) as well as their transition into operations. (SFIA Skill: CHMG: Level 5)
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills with a proven record in the assessment and evaluation of technical requirements within a complex IM/ICT environment.
  • Well developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing, Collaborative working)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary project team. (NHS: Leading change through people)
