We are seeking an enthusiastic, relational and capable Deputy Principal to join the Gracemere State School leadership team for a temporary engagement until 12 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About us:

Gracemere State School is located in the heart of Gracemere on the outskirts of Rockhampton and caters for students for Prep-Year 6. Enrolments are continuing to rise, currently sitting at 325 students, as our reputation and successes increase.

Your opportunity:

The successful applicant will be a visible, collaborative and solutions-focused leader who builds strong relationships with students, staff and families. You will support high expectations, consistent school operations and a culture where student learning, wellbeing and success remain at the centre of our work. 

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
