Principal Data Modeller

An AO7 Principal Data Modeller vacancy is available in the Data and Analytics Division of the Queensland Revenue Office. This role will be based in the Brisbane CBD.
This role will see you have a major focus on technical skills balanced with strong leadership, client centric, and analytics skills. You will use a proactive approach to seek innovative, best-practice solutions in developing ELT, data models, and analytical outputs.

Your typical day as a Principal Data Modeller may include:
• Monitoring the smooth ongoing operation and reliability of the data platform and data pipelines, resolving pipeline failures, and communicating the resolution plan and timeline with internal stakeholders.
• Sourcing new data, building new ETL and pipelines, enhancing data quality and integrity, extending the target data model and reporting.
• Documenting the solution architecture, integrations, procedures, and production changes.
You will be supported by a positive, constructive team and divisional leaders as you do your work.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
• Strong leadership and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in large scale projects related to one or more of the following areas: Enterprise data warehouse, data lake, Lakehouse, analytical application.
• Understanding and working knowledge of SQL, agile process, data modelling, data engineering, ELT development with Databricks and SAP technologies.
• Experience of technical delivery following Medallion Architecture and Layered Scalable Architecture (LSA++).
• Experience with Azure Data Storage, Azure Synapse, Databricks, DevOps, SAP HANA (XSA and XSC), is desirable.
