Business Services Coordinator

In this role you will provide oversite of business services activities and expertise in performance, financial management and corporate governance and procedural compliance activities. You will actively participate in the oversite and reporting of key relationships and agreements/contracts of a business nature to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of business services in a correctional centre.

The primary accountabilities of the Business Services Coordinator include:
- Assist the Correctional Manager Business Services by providing high level business management analysis and advice to centre management enabling them to deliver quality, cost effective services that are consistent with Agency strategic and operational objectives.
- Assist with monitoring of internal controls and provide governance oversite to all business services activities.
- Assist with the develop and maintain appropriate reporting systems and processes to facilitate effective performance, financial and resource management to assist with governance oversite and procedural compliance.
- Report and monitor centre performance against key indicators, ensuring that effective internal controls and risk management processes are in place for the centre to provide a high level of assurance to centre management on the integrity of reported information.
- Provide financial and activity-based information and respond to requests for information by appropriately gathering and sourcing information for analysis, completing analysis (including variance analysis), providing technical advice and producing reports.
- Assist with the management of performance appraisal and development of staff in conjunction with other centre managers and develop and foster a working environment which is motivated, productive and committed to service delivery as well as compliant with quality human resource management.
- Provide monthly reporting analysis and advice on centre cost centre performance in terms of expenditure, FTE's and activity highlighting relevant variances to assist in decision making processes.
- Assist with the monitoring of functions including centre administrative services, prisoner trust accounts, visits processing, centre stores and procurement, prisoner purchasing, property, accounts payable/receivable, assets, and centre maintenance.
- Assist with the monitoring of food services activities in the centre to ensure the effective use of resources.
- Assist with the monitoring of prisoner industries and prisoner employment activities in the centre to ensure the effective use of resources.
The role description provides the minimum requirements for the role. The incumbent may be required to undertake other duties as required outside of these primary accountabilities.
