Your new role:
As the Director of Nursing and/or Midwifery (DONM), Education & Research, you will provide strategic, operational and professional leadership across Metro South Health's nursing and midwifery education and research functions, shaping contemporary practice and supporting the delivery of health service priorities. Within this role you will:
- Lead the strategic direction of nursing and midwifery education and research programs, projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with Metro South Health priorities and driving high-quality performance outcomes.
- Provide expert professional leadership and influence to shape nursing and midwifery practice, service delivery and workforce capability through innovative education, research and evidence-based approaches.
- Drive performance improvement and excellence across designated areas, fostering innovation, research translation and continuous improvement to support safe, effective and contemporary healthcare.
- Champion strong clinical and corporate governance, working collaboratively with the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, nursing and midwifery executives and multidisciplinary leaders to inform strategic decision-making and maximise the contribution of the professions.
About you:
We are looking for an accomplished nursing and/or midwifery leader who can bring strategic vision, contemporary professional expertise and a strong commitment to education, research and improved health outcomes. We are seeking candidates with:
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and operational leadership, translating organisational priorities into effective education and research programs and initiatives.
- Proven experience leading innovative education and professional development strategies that build workforce capability and support contemporary nursing and midwifery practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to research excellence, evidence-based practice and the translation of research into improved clinical practice and service outcomes.
- Strong understanding and application of clinical and corporate governance, risk management, quality improvement and performance frameworks within a complex health service environment.
- Highly developed ability to build effective partnerships and influence across nursing, midwifery, multidisciplinary and executive teams to achieve shared strategic objectives.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead complex change, foster innovation and inspire high-performing teams in a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.
