Your new role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered radiographer to expand their expertise and work towards a career in ultrasound. You'll deliver high-quality radiography services while undertaking postgraduate ultrasound training, gaining hands-on clinical experience and progressively developing your skills across a full scope of ultrasound examinations. Supported by experienced senior staff, you'll grow your clinical judgement and technical capability in a collaborative, patient-centred environment.

  • Undertake radiography services while completing postgraduate ultrasound training.
  • Develop practical skills and experience across a broad range of ultrasound examinations.
  • Progressively build clinical knowledge, judgement and capability towards independent sonographer practice.
  • Provide safe, compassionate and patient-centred care within an interprofessional team.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation and service statistics.
  • Develop knowledge of ultrasound equipment quality assurance and maintenance.
  • Participate in clinical education, supervision and support of students and less experienced staff.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, service development and research activities.

About you:

We're looking for a motivated and committed radiographer who is ready to take the next step in their medical imaging career. You'll bring a strong patient-centred approach, effective communication skills and a genuine commitment to learning. Your willingness to develop your ultrasound knowledge and embrace postgraduate study will be key to your success in this role.

  • Hold a Queensland Licence to Use Irradiating Apparatus.
  • Demonstrate a base level of ultrasound knowledge and exposure.
  • Demonstrate high-quality, evidence-based radiography practice.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within an interprofessional team.
  • Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm for learning and commitment to professional development.
  • Have the ability to develop, or rapidly acquire, skills in clinical education and service improvement.

About us:

The Division of Diagnostic Radiology provides a 24-hour clinical support service. The Department incorporates a complete Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).

All general radiological services including mammography as well as advanced imaging services, including nuclear medicine and PET imaging, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, all major angiography, and vascular interventional procedures, including cardiac examinations, are provided.

The Division is an accredited centre that provides education and training for registrars, radiography graduates and students, nursing staff and medical students.
