Our staff are a part of the community we serve, and we strongly believe that health outcomes are enhanced by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of local health services.

Mareeba experiences a tropical savanna climate, characterized by a short, hot wet season and a long, warm dry season. Agriculture and tourism drive the local economy, with diverse tropical fruits, vegetables, poultry, and cattle contributing to the region's prosperity.

Mareeba Hospital provides healthcare services to the local community, supporting primary health centres and Lotus Glen Correctional Centre. It offers emergency care, medical imaging, maternity, and medical wards, along with a variety of specialist outpatient services.

The Mareeba Hospital Emergency Department provides a twenty-four-hour, seven day a week emergency service for the assessment, treatment, admission, transfer and discharge of adults and children with emergent, urgent, and non-urgent illnesses and injuries.
