Who we are:
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is a Queensland Government agency that unlocks land and accelerates housing, planning and infrastructure delivery—creating liveable places and enabling economic growth. Our work helps deliver safe, secure and affordable homes and supports thriving communities across the state.
Empowered by the Economic Development Act 2012, EDQ has unique planning and approval powers to help unblock complex projects and bring development-ready land to market. Our purpose is simple: help Queenslanders find a place to call home, create more jobs closer to home, and support liveable communities that reflect Queensland's way of life.
We work across government and with industry to attract investment, enable jobs and deliver projects that make a measurable difference for Queenslanders.
About the Role:
Working within EDQ's Development Services division, you'll join the Post Approval team supporting the administration of plan sealing applications and the delivery of development outcomes across Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys structured project work, working with legislation and process, and contributing to projects that support housing and infrastructure delivery.
- Assess and administer plan sealing applications, ensuring compliance with approval conditions, legislation and established timeframes.
- Coordinate project documentation, reports, briefings and workflow records to support the successful delivery of development projects.
- Maintain accurate records within EDQ's workflow management system (DASH), tracking key milestones and application progress.
- Build positive relationships with internal teams, councils, developers and other stakeholders throughout the plan sealing process.
- Assist with meeting coordination, minute taking and management of shared team inboxes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support broader project activities across the Post Approval team.
About You:
You're an organised, detail-oriented project support professional who enjoys working in a structured environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.
You thrive on managing competing priorities while building positive working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience in project support, planning, development assessment, local government, surveying or a similar administrative environment.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures while exercising sound judgement.
- A collaborative, proactive approach and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills. Experience with development or workflow management systems (such as DASH or Source) will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Why Choose EDQ:
If you're motivated by purpose and impact, you'll fit right in at EDQ. You will also be able to enjoy the following:
- Flexible and agile ways of working
- Generous leave and 12.75% superannuation
- Learning, development and career pathways
- Modern workplaces designed for collaboration
