Senior Content Designer

As the Senior Content Designer, you will lead the development and optimisation of accessible, audience-focused content across websites, intranet and email channels, provide expert advice on digital publishing and user experience, and use analytics and insights to drive continuous improvement. Working closely with business areas, you will also support the review, migration and redesign of content as part of an intranet redevelopment project.
Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of communicators, you will partner with business areas across the department to deliver high-quality, best-practice digital communication outcomes.

We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate the following key attributes:
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering high-quality digital content across websites, intranet and email channels, with a strong focus on accessibility, usability and audience needs.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to elicit content and business requirements from stakeholders at all levels and influence outcomes through effective communication and sound judgement.
- Experience delivering large-scale content migration projects.
- Well-developed knowledge of digital publishing, content management systems and contemporary digital communication practices, with the ability to provide specialist advice to stakeholders.
- Experience using:
- web analytics tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, Acquia Web Governance (previously Monsido), Siteimprove or
- content management systems and web publishing platforms, such as SharePoint, Squiz Matrix, GovCMS and/or other enterprise systems.
- content design tools such as GatherContent and VisibleThread.
- search engine optimisation principles and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
- corporate web writing guides such as Australian Government Style Manual.
- Demonstrated ability to use digital insights and performance data to evaluate content, identify opportunities for improvement, and optimise user experience.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify risks, maintain quality standards, and ensure that content is accurate, accessible and fit-for-purpose.

- The role may require occasional overtime, including evenings or weekends, by negotiation.
Qualifications
- While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification is highly regarded.
