Your opportunity:

Specialist teachers delivering a broad range of services to school community members, contributing to the development of a comprehensive student support and wellbeing program that is responsive to the needs of the school community. Guidance Officers are required to provide this service in collaboration with other school-based personnel and external support providers in a variety of educational contexts. 

Key Responsibilities: 

The Guidance Officer will play a key role in: 

• Providing counselling, assessment and individual support to students.
• Supporting students, families and school staff with educational, behavioural, social, emotional and  wellbeing matters. 
• Conducting student observations and psychoeducational assessments and making recommendations for appropriate adjustments and interventions. 
• Coordinating case management, referrals and support for students with diverse and complex needs. 
• Working collaboratively with school teams, families, external service providers and regional personnel. 
• Supporting schools in responding to student protection matters, critical incidents and risk management processes. 
• Developing and implementing preventative and early intervention programs that respond to the needs  of each school community.
