About the role

The Assistant in Nursing provides valuable support to the nursing team within the Specialist Outpatient Department at Caboolture Hospital. Working under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or midwife, this role contributes to the delivery of safe, high-quality and person-centred care while supporting the effective operation of outpatient services.

The successful candidate will assist with delegated nursing care activities, support consumers throughout their healthcare journey, and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes. The role also contributes to maintaining a safe clinical environment, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the efficient functioning of the Specialist Outpatient Department.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide nursing team support and undertake delegated care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse or midwife.
  • Assist in delivering safe, person-centred care within the Specialist Outpatient Department.
  • Observe, respond to and report changes in a consumer's health status to the supervising nurse or midwife.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support patient wellbeing and service delivery.
  • Contribute to a safe workplace by identifying risks, supporting improvement initiatives and complying with policies and procedures.
