Your new role:

As a Nurse Educator, you will provide advanced clinical and educational leadership within the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Unit, designing, implementing and evaluating contemporary nursing education programs across the relevant specialty area. You will:

  • Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based education and training programs that build the capability and confidence of nursing staff at all levels.
  • Use your advanced clinical knowledge and expertise to support contemporary practice, translate evidence into clinical education, and promote safe, person-centred care.
  • Partner with Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Consultants and multidisciplinary teams to identify learning needs, develop educational plans and support workforce development.
  • Drive a culture of learning, enquiry, innovation and continuous improvement, including contributing to quality initiatives, research and simulation-based education.

The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to nursing practice across the Logan and Bayside areas while working within a dedicated education and research environment.

About you:

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced clinical knowledge, strong education capability and a genuine commitment to developing others and improving patient care. You will bring:

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and specialist clinical skills, with the ability to provide autonomous practice, clinical expertise and professional leadership.
  • Proven experience developing, delivering and evaluating nursing education, training and specialist programs, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and build positive team cultures.
  • Experience using data, quality improvement, research and evaluation to identify opportunities, inform practice and strengthen education and workforce capability.

You will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and a tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.

The Metro South Health (MSH) Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery (EDNM) Division provides overarching governance, leadership, strategic support and guidance for the Nursing and Midwifery professions across the health service. The nursing and midwifery team within the MSH EDNM Division supports the delivery of the MSH Nursing and Midwifery strategy and associated workforce priorities.
