About the role

Lead the delivery of healthcare services within the Woodford Correctional Health Service and make a meaningful difference to a unique patient population. This senior nursing leadership opportunity combines strategic oversight, clinical governance and operational management, ensuring the provision of safe, effective and patient-centred healthcare within a correctional environment.

Working closely with nursing leaders, multidisciplinary teams and correctional partners, you will provide leadership and direction for nursing staff while driving quality improvement, workforce development and service delivery outcomes. The role offers the opportunity to influence healthcare standards, champion contemporary nursing practice and contribute to positive health outcomes for patients within the correctional system.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide advanced clinical and operational leadership for the Woodford Correctional Health Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred nursing care.
  • Lead and support nursing staff through workforce planning, performance management, mentoring, succession planning and professional development activities.
  • Drive quality improvement, education, research and clinical governance initiatives that promote best-practice healthcare and achievement of service performance targets.
  • Apply contemporary human, financial and resource management principles to support effective service delivery and organisational objectives.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative practice environment while building strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders and correctional service partners.
