Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist to join our dermatology team. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality specialist dermatology services, contribute to teaching and training, and play a key role in the ongoing development of our dermatology service.

About your opportunity

This position provides a unique opportunity for a visiting Staff Specialist to join the dermatology team at Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) and help provide specialist services to our community.

For the successful candidate, you will primarily work in an outpatient setting, caring for patients with skin disease of varying levels of complexity, as well as performing a range of dermatologic procedures. Townsville has an exciting and diverse casemix with opportunities for special interest in tropical and infectious dermatology given our North Queensland location. We are also launching a clinical trials unit with ongoing opportunities for research and clinical trials and have a close working relationship with James Cook University.

A key feature of this position will be to oversee the clinical work of doctors-in-training, and to contribute to their education and training. In addition, the successful candidate will be supported to develop specialist clinical services that help build the service as a centre of excellence in Dermatologic Medicine.
