About the role

The Administrative Officer provides high-quality administrative and customer service support to the multidisciplinary team within Metro North Mental Health. Based at the Mental Health Centre within The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, the role plays an important part in supporting service delivery through a range of administrative, reception and business support functions that contribute to the efficient operation of the service.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for consumers, carers and stakeholders accessing mental health services, provide support for the 1300 MHCALL access line, maintain accurate records and information systems, coordinate documentation and medical records, and assist with a broad range of operational and administrative activities. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering professional, customer-focused support in a busy healthcare environment.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide professional reception, customer service and administrative support as the first point of contact for consumers, carers, staff and stakeholders.
  • Support the operation of the 1300 MHCALL access line, including consumer registration, demographic data collection and referral processing.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, administrative documentation and information systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance requirements are met.
  • Coordinate day-to-day business support activities including correspondence, meeting administration, office equipment, supplies, fleet management and facility support.
  • Build positive working relationships and contribute to an efficient, responsive and collaborative team environment through effective communication and customer service.
