Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is seeking an accomplished executive leader to lead the Workforce Culture, Integrity and Capability Division and shape the agency’s workforce, culture, integrity and capability agenda.

Reporting to the QCS Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner provides strategic leadership across the agency’s workforce, legal, policy, integrity, governance, cultural capability and learning and development functions.

About the Role

As a key member of the QCS Executive Leadership Team, the Deputy Commissioner, WCIC, leads a diverse portfolio of strategic, enabling and integrity functions that are central to organisational performance, workforce sustainability, public trust and the delivery of corrective services outcomes.

The role also drives cross-agency reform and positions QCS to deliver its strategic priorities and the Queensland Government's objectives for the community, while ensuring strong alignment with whole-of-government policy, governance, integrity and financial requirements.

Key priorities for the role include:

• Driving strategic workforce, culture and capability planning informed by workforce modelling, data analysis and evidence-based decision-making.
• Providing expert advice on legal, legislative, workforce, integrity and operational policy matters to the Minister, Commissioner and Board of Management.
• Leading cultural and organisational reform, including discipline, employee grievance resolution, workplace conduct, complaints and investigations.
• Providing strategic leadership and oversight of the QCS Academy and its delivery of high-quality, evidence-based education, training, and development programs.
• Building and maintaining productive relationships across government, unions, oversight bodies, First Nations stakeholders, peak organisations and other key partners.
