As a Regional Property Asset Officer, you will play an important role in managing a diverse housing property portfolio that supports the delivery of housing and homelessness services across Queensland. The work you do behind the scenes has a real impact, helping ensure homes remain safe, functional and fit for purpose for the people who live in them.

In this role, you will combine technical knowledge, analytical thinking and relationship-building skills to support informed decisions about property maintenance, upgrades and long-term asset planning. You will inspect and assess buildings, identify risks and opportunities, develop property-related recommendations and provide trusted advice on asset management matters.

You can expect to:
• Conduct property inspections and building assessments across a diverse portfolio.
• Prepare reports and recommendations that support maintenance, upgrade and investment decisions.
• Help ensure maintenance works meet relevant building standards, regulations and safety requirements.
• Contribute to property condition audits and provide scopes of work for planned improvements.
• Provide advice on property asset management issues and portfolio priorities.
• Build productive relationships with colleagues, community representatives, service providers and other stakeholders.
• Represent the department in local forums and help foster positive partnerships that support housing outcomes.
• Champion a strong safety culture by embedding workplace health and safety into everyday activities.
