This is a temporary full-time position commencing in Term 4, from 6 October until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Established in 1912, Mount Morgan State High School has a long history and strong connection to the local community. Located in the historic mining town of Mount Morgan, around 40 km south-west of Rockhampton, the school provides education for students in Years 7-12.

With around 230 students, the school offers a close-knit secondary school environment with a strong focus on student achievement, wellbeing and engagement.

Your opportunity:

As Head of Department - Junior Secondary, you will lead the Junior Secondary phase and work with teachers to strengthen teaching and learning and support positive outcomes for students.

You will:

• Lead teaching and learning across Junior Years.
• Support teachers to implement effective, explicit teaching practices.
• Strengthen student engagement, achievement and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with staff, students, families and the wider community.
• Contribute to the school's academic, vocational and future pathways.
