About the role
The Social Worker Senior provides high-level clinical social work services within the Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments at Caboolture Hospital. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the role supports patients, families and carers experiencing acute psychosocial trauma, sudden illness, crisis situations and complex psychosocial issues, helping to optimise outcomes and access to healthcare and community supports.
The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based assessment, counselling and intervention services across a broad range of presentations including domestic and family violence, sexual assault, major trauma, child protection, elder abuse, homelessness, frailty, bereavement and grief. This role also contributes to clinical leadership, education, service improvement, research and multidisciplinary case management within a fast-paced emergency care environment.

- Deliver advanced social work assessment, counselling and intervention services for patients experiencing complex psychosocial issues and trauma.
- Provide expert clinical decision-making and contribute to multidisciplinary case management in the Emergency Department.
- Advocate for patients and families while building effective relationships with healthcare providers, community agencies and key stakeholders.
- Support education, mentoring and professional development for students, colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to research, quality improvement initiatives and service development activities that enhance patient care outcomes.
