About us:

Gumma Gundoo Maternity Service provides culturally responsive antenatal and postnatal care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who choose to access a dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander maternity service.

The service brings together Midwives, Advanced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, a Transport Officer and Senior Medical Officers in Obstetrics to provide coordinated, culturally safe and person-centred maternity care.

Gumma Gundoo operates as an outreach service, with clinics delivered in Woorabinda and within the Rockhampton community, supporting women to access maternity care closer to home and within their community.

About the role:

This role provides an opportunity for an experienced Registered Midwife with advanced clinical skills to deliver comprehensive antenatal care within an all-risk service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families, including women who identify their unborn child as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide culturally safe, person-centred antenatal care and pregnancy assessment, with intrapartum care supported by core maternity midwives at Rockhampton, Emerald and Biloela Hospitals.

About you:

You are an experienced Clinical Midwife who brings advanced clinical capability, strong leadership and a commitment to delivering culturally safe, person-centred maternity care.

You will bring:

• Advanced skills in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating midwifery care within complex clinical environments.
• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally appropriate and responsive maternity care.
• Strong clinical problem-solving skills and the ability to coordinate person-centred care at an advanced level.
• Leadership capability, including experience supporting, precepting and developing colleagues while contributing positively to professional midwifery practice.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate, consult and manage conflict effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality services and contributing to organisational and service outcomes.
• The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with women, families, colleagues and key stakeholders, and contribute to relevant professional and community networks.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,931 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $57.76 - $61.85 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
