What your day could look like
As a Senior Social Worker in the Child Development Service, you'll help children and families access the support they need to better understand and navigate developmental challenges. Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to positive outcomes that strengthen wellbeing, connection and participation in everyday life.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering comprehensive psychosocial assessments that guide timely support and improved outcomes for children and families.
- Partnering with clinicians, carers, schools and community services to create coordinated pathways of care.
- Leading service improvements that enhance quality, efficiency and family-centred practice.
- Providing professional guidance, mentoring and clinical expertise that strengthens team capability and care delivery.

You're an experienced social worker who combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion. You communicate with confidence, build trusted relationships and approach complex situations with integrity, courage and respect. You'll take pride in helping children and families feel heard, supported and understood while contributing to better long-term developmental outcomes.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Strong experience in child and family psychosocial assessment and case management.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary and community-based environments.
- Demonstrated capability to lead quality improvement, supervision or workforce development activities.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you bring experience supporting children with developmental needs and/or advanced training in child development, family-centred practice or clinical leadership.
Above all, you'll embody Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage while helping children and families achieve their best possible outcomes.
