Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) is seeking an experienced communications professional to join its high-performing Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety of Queensland's resources sector by delivering strategic communications that support regulatory initiatives across coal mining, mineral mines, quarries, petroleum, gas and explosives industries.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will provide expert communication advice to a range of business units, manage stakeholder relationships, and develop and implement communication plans for high-profile projects. You will create engaging content across multiple channels, including electronic direct mail campaigns, newsletters, web content, social media, industry publications, briefing materials and media responses.

A key aspect of the role is translating complex technical and legislative information into clear, accessible content for industry stakeholders while maintaining accuracy and regulatory integrity. You will work closely with inspectors, investigators, senior leaders and subject matter experts to deliver effective communication outcomes and identify opportunities to strengthen engagement with the resources sector.

To be successful, you will bring strong communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in communications, marketing, media or a related discipline is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to develop strategic communication solutions and build productive working relationships. Experience working with technical information and digital communication platforms is highly regarded.

Essential / desirable requirements

• A minimum of five years' experience in communications, media or other relevant fields.  
• The ability to use or quickly gain the knowledge and skills to use Vision6 or other EDM programs.  
• Experience working with technical information.  
• Experience creating content and managing social media channels is desirable.  
• A degree in communications, marketing or journalism is desirable.  

Qualifications 
If your qualification is from an overseas institution, you are responsible for obtaining official recognition to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework. You will be required to provide a certified copy of your qualification assessment prior to engagement.
