About us:

Our Pharmacy Department supports clinical facilities across the region, with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants working across acute wards, outpatient clinics and community-focused services.

From preparing and supplying medicines to inpatient wards, to providing prescriptions and dispensary services for patients coming through the hospital, we help make sure the right medication gets to the right person at the right time.

About the role:

• Be where the action is. Lead and deliver clinical pharmacy services across Rockhampton Hospital and CQHHS, working across acute wards and outpatient clinics. You'll use your clinical expertise to support safe, effective medication management and provide the right advice when it matters most.
• Keep things interesting. Get involved in emergency clinical on-call, weekend and shift rosters, while working with GPs, nurses, carers, community pharmacies and other healthcare teams to piece together accurate medication histories and ensure smooth transitions in care.
• Share what you know. Mentor and supervise pharmacists, interns, undergraduate and postgraduate students and pharmacy support staff. You'll also get involved in multidisciplinary education and help build a strong learning culture across the service.
• Make pharmacy better. Take the lead in quality improvement, monitor clinical outcomes, collect key performance data and help shape the future of inpatient pharmacy services. You'll also participate regularly in the SHPA ClinCAT assessment and work with the Pharmacy leadership team to keep raising the bar.

About you:

• You're an AHPRA-registered pharmacist (or eligible for registration) with strong clinical pharmacy knowledge, expertise and skills in your specialist area. A graduate diploma or master's qualification in a pharmacy-related field would be a great bonus.
• Confident providing complex clinical pharmacy services, thinking critically and adapting your approach when the usual playbook doesn't quite fit.
• A natural problem-solver and can spot opportunities to improve how we do things, turn good ideas into action and plan and evaluate service improvement initiatives that make a real difference.
• Comfortable providing clinical advice, supporting service improvements and supervising others while sharing your knowledge and helping the pharmacy team grow.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,113 p.m. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
