CNC | 3 Month Full-Time Opportunity | $5,390.40 - $5,852.40 Looking for a role where you can combine advanced clinical practice with leadership and make a real difference in the lives of young people? As a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) in Prison and Youth Detention Health Services, you'll provide expert care, guidance and leadership to support the health and wellbeing of young people in custody.
The CNC – Youth and Adolescent Health Promotion and Screening role operates Monday to Friday within business hours. The Youth Detention facilities within Prison and Youth Detention Health Services are a 24 hour, seven-day a week service providing primary health care services to Young Persons within a detention environment.

About the role
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to apply specialised knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory in youth and adolescent health promotion and screening and participate directly and indirectly in the delivery of clinical care.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team inclusive of external stakeholders, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard in Prison and Youth Detention Health Services.
- Demonstrated ability to educate, inform, counsel and support patients with contemporary clinical information at an advanced level relevant to patient's care and understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective nursing health professional with capability for high level engagement across the spectrum of stakeholders including patients and families.
- Demonstrated advanced skills for effective communication, relationship development and maintenance, and change management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current legislation/policy and the ability to develop documents and reports supporting the application of same.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- A Queensland Corrective Services check will be undertaken on persons recommended for employment.
