Take the lead in shaping emergency and organisational resilience across West Moreton Health! The purpose of this role is to provide advice, leadership, management, and coordination to ensure West Moreton Health appropriately identifies and manages organisational risk relating to emergency events, impacts, and to lead West Moreton Health’s emergency management and business continuity program. This will ensure that West Moreton Health is adequately prepared for emergency situations and the risk of business interruption relating to both planned emergency events.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide senior level leadership for emergency management and business continuity specifically in developing and implementing the emergency management framework and business continuity planning.
- Provide emergency management and business continuity framework expertise to all West Moreton Health clinical service areas to enable the development of business continuity plans as required.
- Lead, coordinate and manage training and exercises to test emergency preparedness, business continuity plans adequacy, and report outcomes to management.
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate fire services and develop strategies to ensure fire safety compliance to support the safety of patients, visitors, staff and physical assets across all West Moreton Health facilities.
What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Extensive knowledge in emergency preparedness, fire safety and related issues, able to develop plans and projects for implementation.
- High level skills in conducting assessment, reviews, investigations, analysis and self-inspections recommending corrective actions, communicating results, compiling reports and ensuring follow up on issues or concerns until completion
- Comprehensive and applied knowledge (or ability to rapidly acquire) of Queensland Health business systems, emergency management response arrangements and emergency management planning practices.
- Financial management skills, including the ability to develop, interpret, monitor and analyse trend data in organisational financial and business reports, forecast, monitor and manage revenue and expenditure.
- Well-developed leadership and management skills including demonstrated capacity to create and maintain high performing teams and demonstrated ability to manage change and innovation in business services.
