Queensland Parliamentary Catering Services is seeking a professional and highly organised Senior Supervisor, Events to lead our Front of House event operations within the iconic Parliament House precinct. As Senior Supervisor, Events, you'll take the lead on the floor across all function and event spaces within the Parliamentary precinct, including supervising a team of Event Supervisors and a cohort of full-time, part-time and casual staff. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll be the key point of contact for clients on the day of an event, coordinating the delivery of multiple events simultaneously and working with other relevant departments, including security and the property teams to ensure clients and guests have a five-star experience.
From parliamentary functions and corporate events to high-profile receptions, you'll play a key role in creating memorable experiences in one of Queensland's most prestigious venues.
Key Objectives
- Lead Front of House operations across events, functions, meeting spaces, and hospitality services.
- Coordinate and develop staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences and service standards.
- Support the achievement of operational, financial, and service delivery objectives.
Your Role
- Lead and supervise Front of House staff in event setup, service delivery, and pack down activities, including often running many concurrent functions on the same day.
- Acting as the key on-the-day liaison for clients and VIP guests, ensuring a seamless, high-level standard of event service from arrival to departure.
- Coordinating closely with Catering Services, Security and Attendants, and Property and Facility Services to deliver a unified approach to complex, high-profile events.
- Working with the Sales & Administration team on bookings and event details to keep every function on track.
- Helping build and manage staff rosters, training plans and recruitment for a large front-of-house team.
- Supporting budget, cost control and stock management, and reporting on financial matters to the Catering Services Manager.
- Using function management, point-of-sale and scheduling systems to plan and coordinate services.
- Contributing to Standard Operating Procedures across all venues, meeting rooms and event spaces.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience supervising and coordinating large teams in a five-star catering or hospitality environment, ideally managing multiple events or service points at once.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff.
- Experience coordinating functions, events, or food and beverage service delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder and client relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Well-developed communication skills and strong conflict resolution and problem-solving ability.
- Experience using hospitality point-of-sale, scheduling, or event management systems.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a high-profile environment.
