About the role  

This position is based in Brisbane, and flexible arrangements can be considered upon application, including working remotely at a Regional QBCC office in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton Maryborough, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Gold Coast subject to availability.  If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office may be required.

In this influential partnering role, you'll work alongside senior leaders and project teams to help shape strategic decisions across QBCC. More than reporting on the numbers, you'll bring financial information to life, translating data, trends and forecasts into practical insights that guide investment, planning and project delivery. You'll challenge thinking, test opportunities, evaluate business cases and provide the analysis leaders rely on to make informed decisions. About you

You enjoy uncovering insights, asking the right questions and helping leaders make confident, evidence-based decisions. A skilled relationship builder, you're comfortable engaging diverse stakeholders, navigating complex conversations and influencing outcomes through clear, practical advice. You combine strong analytical capability and financial expertise with a collaborative, continuous improvement mindset and genuine curiosity about how the business operates. Experience in budgeting and forecasting is essential, along with a degree in business, commerce, accounting or a related discipline. You will also be a member of a recognised professional accounting body or working towards membership. Government finance experience and proficiency in TechnologyOne, Power BI and Excel may strengthen your application.
