About us:

Step into a service that is growing with the Gladstone region. As the healthcare hub for Gladstone and the Banana regions, Gladstone Hospital offers the opportunity to work across a broad and evolving service, with 70 inpatient beds and plans for further expansion. You'll be part of a diverse clinical environment spanning emergency, general medicine and surgery, maternity, paediatrics, HDU and coronary care, gynaecology, orthopaedics, palliative care, imaging and pathology.

With 24/7 emergency care and a clear focus on developing towards Level 4 services and Destination 2030, there is plenty of opportunity to build your experience as the service continues to grow. For medical professionals, General Medicine also provides structured training and development through RACP Basic Physician Training, Work Based Assessment for IMGs and planned ACRRM support.

About the role:

• Provide professional leadership, supervision and education to medical trainees, junior doctors and students, while supporting staff performance, development and workplace learning.
• Provide specialist General Medicine services, participate in the current 1:3 after-hours consultant on-call roster, support NEAT targets and contribute to outreach and telehealth services across Central Queensland.
• Promote evidence-based practice, clinical governance, risk management and continuous quality improvement, while maintaining compliance with relevant national standards and accreditation requirements.
• Deliver teaching and seminars, contribute to clinical research and academic medicine, and maintain ongoing professional development and college requirements.

About you:

• MBBS or equivalent, specialist registration with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACP in General Medicine (FRACP), with current participation in relevant CME.
• Demonstrated high-level knowledge and skills in General Medicine, with the ability to lead patient assessment, admission, ongoing management, transfer and discharge, including emergency care.
• Proven ability to lead and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, with a commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
• A demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement and actively contribute to continuous quality, safety and service improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and demonstrated involvement in clinical education, research and knowledge sharing.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $572,732 p.a. is comprised of:

• A salary rate between $266,839 – $282,912 p.a. (L25 – L27)
• A salary rate between $223,136 – $259,187 p.a. (L18 – L24)
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
