As Manager, Technical Support, you'll provide leadership, direction, and support to a specialist team responsible for contaminated land, PFAS and emerging contaminants matters. You'll oversee Queensland's contaminated land auditor framework, guide the delivery of high-quality technical and regulatory advice and work with government, industry and the community to achieve positive environmental outcomes.
This role suits an experienced people leader with a strong background in contaminated land, environmental assessment, remediation, or regulation, who can combine strategic leadership, sound judgement and technical expertise to influence environmental decision making across Queensland.

Lead a high-performing team tackling some of Queensland's most complex contaminated land and emerging contaminants challenges.
Within Environmental Services and Regulation (ESR), the Manager, Technical Support is responsible for leading and developing a team of environmental
specialists who provide technical and regulatory expertise on contaminated land assessment, remediation, PFAS and other emerging contaminants.
The role is critical in ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice that supports environmental regulation and informs environmental decision making across Queensland.
As Manager, Technical Support, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a specialist team, fostering a positive culture, building capability, and driving continuous improvement. You will oversee Queensland's contaminated land auditor framework and associated compliance programs, while ensuring the provision of consistent, high-quality technical and regulatory advice on complex environmental matters.
The role works closely with government agencies, industry stakeholders, consultants and environmental professionals to achieve positive environmental outcomes. You will influence policy and regulatory approaches, support complex environmental assessments and investigations, and represent the department on state and national technical forums and committees.
We're looking for someone who can:

• Build productive relationships and influence outcomes across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
• Exercise sound judgement and make evidence-based decisions on complex environmental matters.
• Demonstrate significant experience in contaminated land assessment, remediation, environmental regulation, hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental engineering or a related discipline.
• Interpret and apply environmental legislation, policies, standards, and technical guidance.
• Contribute to strategic planning, program delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Backgrounds: Contaminated Land Consultant, Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer, Hydrogeologist, Remediation Specialist, Environmental Regulator, Team Leader, Technical Manager, or Senior Environmental Practitioner.
