Senior Program Officer

This role will work closely with the Principal Program Officer and provide a supporting role in the design and development of reviews, projects and initiatives that are effective, efficient, evidenced-based, and enhance quality outcomes for youth and victims. The Senior Program Officer will support the Principal Program Officer to ensure reviews, appraisals, projects and initiatives are developed and delivered, within required timeframes and of a high standard.
The Senior Program Officer undertakes supporting duties to ensure effective and efficient engagement with internal and external stakeholders and aid the delivery of projects, appraisals and initiatives.

As a Senior Program Officer, you will:
• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Aid the development, management, and implementation of reviews, appraisals, projects and initiatives that support the effective delivery of services, congruent with current strategic and operational plans.
• Use data analytics to assess processes, determine organisational requirements and support the delivery of data-driven insights to internal and external stakeholders.
• Confidently use Excel to summarise, analyse and explore large datasets.
• Support the implementation of projects and review of programs and initiatives through gathering, reviewing, and documenting key outcomes, via a range of mediums (i.e., consultations, surveys, case reads, literature reviews, data analysis and stakeholder engagement).
• Gather information from a wide range of sources and support the development of strategic advice on complex operational program, policy and legislative issues which may impact the successful delivery of programs and initiatives.
• Support in the coordination and management of day-to-day operations and issues to ensure on-time, high quality delivery of project and initiatives deliverables and outcomes.
• Assist the Principal Practice Officer to engage in high level consultation, liaison, and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders to inform the development and implementation of reviews, projects and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
• Ensure reviews, projects and appraisals support the department's service delivery and strategic intent, including relevant outcomes for First Nations peoples.
• Prepare and edit a range of written materials including cabinet submissions, executive correspondence, briefing material, short reports, PowerPoint presentations, literature reviews, and information papers relating to projects delivered by the business unit.
• Work within a team environment and contribute to the promotion of an accountable, supportive, and equitable work environment.
• Maintain positive connections with central, corporate, regional and detention centre staff to enable quality review and appraisal planning.
