Wilsonton State School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Officer to join our school team.

In this vital role, you will help ensure our school grounds and facilities are safe, welcoming and well presented. Your work will make a genuine difference to the day-to-day experience of our students, staff and wider school community.

Your opportunity:

The successful applicant will be sharing the role with the permanent role holder. The successful applicant will work two days per week, preferably Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate a range of day-to-day school support activities, including mail and parcel delivery, printing and photocopying, classroom and event setup, furniture relocation, stock handling, maintaining registers, and recording school assets and equipment.
  • Support school security and facility operations by managing access to buildings, maintaining security systems, transporting and depositing school funds, assisting with waste removal, immediate cleaning requirements, and setup for major school events.
  • Undertake general grounds and facilities maintenance, including lawn and garden care, mowing, watering, weeding, sporting area preparation, drain and gutter clearing, rubbish removal, and maintaining grounds care equipment.
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance across school facilities, furniture and equipment, locks, windows and swimming pools, including maintaining appropriate records, following WHS requirements, safely handling chemicals and equipment, and arranging servicing where required.
  • Liaise with the Principal, Business Manager, contractors and other personnel regarding maintenance requirements, supplies, lost property and facility damage, and work in the field laboratory where a junior agricultural course operates without an agricultural assistant.
