This is a full-time temporary opportunity based in Townsville for a 12-month period from 3 November 2026 to 2 November 2027, with flexible work arrangements available.
About the role
As the Operations Team Leader, you will lead and support a team responsible for delivering operational and service outcomes across Regional Services. You will play a critical role in coordinating workflows, monitoring performance, managing risks and ensuring quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating team workflows, priorities and workloads to achieve agreed service and performance objectives.
- Providing operational leadership, coaching and technical guidance to support team effectiveness and capability development.
- Monitoring operational performance, analysing trends and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and business outcomes.
- Managing complex and escalated matters to achieve positive customer and regulatory outcomes.
- Building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of quality assurance.
- Providing operational insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by the Regional Manager.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading operational teams and managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret information, identify risks and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build effective working relationships.
- Sound judgement and decision-making capabilities when managing complex or sensitive matters.
- A commitment to delivering customer-focused outcomes and fostering a positive team culture.
- The ability to drive continuous improvement and support capability development within a team environment.
While not essential, experience working within a regulatory, compliance or government service delivery environment will be highly regarded.
