Who we are:
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is a Queensland Government agency that unlocks land and accelerates housing, planning and infrastructure delivery—creating liveable places and enabling economic growth. Our work helps deliver safe, secure and affordable homes and supports thriving communities across the state.

Empowered by the Economic Development Act 2012, EDQ has unique planning and approval powers to help unlock complex projects and bring development-ready land to market. Our purpose is simple: help Queenslanders find a place to call home, create more jobs closer to home, and support liveable communities that reflect Queensland's way of life.

We work across government and with industry to attract investment, enable jobs and deliver projects that make a measurable difference for Queenslanders.

About the Role:
Join EDQ's Finance and Digital team as Director, Procurement. You will lead strategic procurement across EDQ, guiding sourcing decisions, strengthening policy and systems, and helping the organisation deliver its priorities with probity and value for money.
• Lead the development and implementation of EDQ-wide procurement strategy, frameworks and policies
• Partner with business areas and external stakeholders on strategic sourcing and procurement matters
• Advise senior and executive leaders on complex, sensitive and high-risk procurement and contract management issues
• Develop scalable procurement approaches aligned with whole-of-government frameworks and policy
• Review procurement submissions, reports and Ministerial correspondence, providing clear advice on complex policy matters
• Lead and develop the procurement team, embedding ethical decision-making, probity and transparency
• Improve procurement processes and systems while managing team performance, resources and priorities

About You:
You are an experienced procurement leader who can set strategic direction, build trusted partnerships and give sound advice on complex matters. You bring a practical focus on value for money, ethical practice and developing others.
• Extensive strategic procurement and policy experience, including the development of organisation-wide strategies
• Strong knowledge of government procurement frameworks, probity and value for money principles
• Ability to provide clear, well-reasoned advice on sensitive or high-risk procurement and contract matters
• Proven leadership of teams, with a focus on capability, accountability and quality outcomes
• Advanced stakeholder engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills
• Excellent judgement, communication and organisational skills in a changing environment
• A commitment to inclusive leadership, continuous improvement and social, environmental and economic outcomes

Why Choose EDQ:
