What your day could look like

As an Operational Services Officer, you'll help keep healthcare services running smoothly by creating clean, safe and supportive environments for patients, staff and visitors. From maintaining high service standards to assisting with patient support and facility operations, you'll be part of a team that delivers essential outcomes every day.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Supporting safe, welcoming and well-maintained healthcare environments that enhance patient experiences.
  • Assisting with patient movement, transport and non-clinical support activities that help care teams deliver quality services.
  • Delivering cleaning, catering and operational support services that meet safety, hygiene and infection control standards.
  • Working collaboratively to ensure equipment, facilities and daily operations are reliable, efficient and ready when needed.

Let's talk about you!

You're someone who takes pride in helping others and understands that every interaction contributes to a positive healthcare experience. You bring compassion, integrity and dignity to your work, stay calm under pressure and look for ways to improve how things are done. You'll enjoy being part of a team where your contribution supports patients, colleagues and the broader community every day.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Experience or knowledge of operational, environmental or support services, ideally within healthcare or a similar setting.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to manage priorities and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
  • A proactive approach, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • A current C Class driver's licence and the ability to undertake manual handling tasks and shift work requirements.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience working across diverse operational service functions and/or experience in health, aged care or community service environments.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.

Your work will help create safe, supportive environments where quality care can thrive.
