The role:
This role is required to provide high level clinical expertise and advice to support the management and strategic development of state-wide Enterprise Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) solution. This will include the integration of services to deliver effective business outcomes for clinical imaging services across the state.
Key responsibilities include:
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Lead the State-wide development of clinical informatics solutions for Queensland Health by applying strategic leadership, direction and professional and clinical radiographic skills and knowledge of the fields of medical imaging and medical imaging technologies in line with QH's core values to develop novel evidence-based solutions.
- Actively initiate and lead the development of clinical systems strategy for clinical informatics advocating authoritatively on a state-wide basis and contributing to relevant governance forums.
- Apply high level of clinical leadership in the development of radiological informatics standards at a national level informed by research and contemporary best practice
- Provide authoritative counsel and strategic advice to the Senior Director of Digital Health and Business Solutions as well as the Executive Director - Delivery Services Branch (eHealth Queensland), eHealth Queensland DDG, HHS Executive(s) to inform the development of state-wide clinical informatics service improvements and governance.
- Lead the development of innovative clinical, technical, tactical and strategic solutions to clinical informatics problems that support emerging clinical needs and contribute to the development of clinical information sharing at a state-wide level by applying detailed expert knowledge and understanding.
- Manage the application of human resources and project/program budgets to the development of state-wide Clinical Informatics solutions to support and improve clinical workflows by applying high level expertise, written and oral communication skills and negotiation skills to advocate with internal (QH) stakeholders and external stakeholders, including professional bodies, industry, vendor and other jurisdictions.
- Coordinate and negotiate delivery of solutions with internal and external service providers at a state-wide level and participate in relevant board meetings, committees and working groups.
- Lead the development of clinical systems education programs for the new systems and technologies to support state-wide clinical Informatics services by identifying required knowledge, skills and development needs and evaluating strategies applied to meet these needs.

- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience relevant to clinical imaging information systems, with an understanding of multidisciplinary care, clinical governance and operational requirements.
- Advanced clinical informatics knowledge and skills, including the ability to translate complex clinical requirements into safe and practical digital solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to assess the clinical and operational impacts of system and workflow changes.
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence decisions, negotiate change and build effective relationships across professional groups.
- The ability to lead and contribute to digital service improvement, applying evidence-based practice to improve patient care and outcomes.
- The ability to prioritise competing demands and respond to emerging issues while minimising clinical risk and disruption to services.
