Be part of what's next in mental health care in Central Queensland! Join our team as we prepare to open a brand-new 32-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Rockhampton Hospital.

Across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana, we provide specialist mental health and alcohol and other drug care that puts people, recovery and wellbeing at the heart of what we do.

Our new state-of-the-art facility will feature high and low dependency units, therapy spaces, indoor gardens and purpose-built spaces designed with the wellbeing of consumers and staff in mind.

About the role:

  • Move recovery forward.Deliver high-quality exercise physiology care, from assessment and intervention through to risk management and discharge planning, supporting consumers with complex and acute mental health needs.
  • Be part of the team.Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to create personalised, recovery-focused care plans and help consumers, carers and families achieve meaningful goals.
  • Share your expertise. Provide clinical advice, education, supervision and support to students, support staff and less experienced practitioners, helping build skills and confidence across the team.
  • Make an impact.Champion consumer rights, trauma-informed and least restrictive care, use evidence to guide your practice and contribute to quality improvement and the future of inpatient mental health care.

About you:

  • You've got a tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Human Movement Studies and are an accredited, or accreditation-eligible, member of ESSA. Almost qualified? Applicants awaiting conferral or registration are welcome to apply too!
  • Deliver evidence-based exercise assessment, intervention and rehabilitation, using sound clinical judgement to support people with acute mental health presentations.
  • Confident communicator who thrives in a multidisciplinary team and can contribute to care planning, risk management, quality improvement and service development.
  • Committed to professional development, reflective practice and recovery-focused care, while creating a safe, culturally responsive and supportive environment for consumers.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $66,283 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
