About us:
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service delivers specialist mental health and alcohol and other drug care to communities across Rockhampton, the Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana regions.
Our service has entered an exciting new phase with the opening of our new Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Rockhampton Hospital. This state-of-the-art 32-bed facility has expanded inpatient care and includes high and low dependency units, therapy spaces, administrative support spaces, indoor garden areas and safety and layout features for the wellbeing of consumers and staff.
Working closely with inpatient, community and primary health partners, our multidisciplinary team takes an integrated approach to supporting the recovery and wellbeing of mental health patients. We are committed to delivering accessible, high-quality, recovery-focused care that makes a meaningful and lasting impact.
About the role:
- Care that counts. Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care, working closely with patients and RNs to understand needs and support great outcomes.
- Communicate and collaborate. Build therapeutic relationships with patients and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to keep care connected.
- Stay on top of care. Contribute to care planning, monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the RN to support timely clinical decisions.
- Keep growing. Work within your scope, use evidence-based practice and embrace professional development and continuous improvement to keep your skills sharp.
About you:
- You're an AHPRA-registered EN with strong experience caring for people with serious mental illness. Mental Health Nursing qualifications or credentialing are highly desirable.
- Can work independently, navigate complex situations and apply your knowledge of the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and national mental health standards.
- Thrive in multidisciplinary teams, communicate with confidence and enjoy supporting, mentoring and developing others.
- Bring strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to quality improvement, research, safe practice and delivering great mental health care.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $91,510 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $38.11 - $40.45 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
