The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. As the Compliance and Risk Lead, you will work collaboratively across the QAS to strengthen risk management, policy implementation, compliance monitoring and assurance practices that contribute to embedding a culture of high performance with high integrity. You will provide strategic advice to senior leaders, oversee key frameworks and internal audit activities, collaborate with subject matter experts, support corporate performance reporting, and build organisational capability through practical guidance, education and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and enhance the QAS Risk Management Framework and organisational risk practices.
  • Provide strategic advice on governance, compliance, privacy, human rights and regulatory obligations.
  • Oversee internal audit, assurance and compliance activities to strengthen organisational performance and accountability.
  • Monitor legislative and policy developments and assess impacts on the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver risk and compliance education programs to build organisational capability.
  • Support strategic planning, performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives across QAS.
