An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated and experienced educational leader to join Mareeba State School as Head of Special Education Services. Working within the school’s Special Education Program, the successful applicant will support the delivery of inclusive educational practices and positive outcomes for students. This temporary position is available from January 2027 until December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

Your opportunity:
As Head of Special Education Services, you will play a key leadership role in fostering an inclusive school culture where students with disability are supported to learn, participate and achieve. You will lead the delivery of the school's Special Education Program, providing expert advice and support to school leaders, teachers and staff to strengthen inclusive practices and improve outcomes for students.
In this role, you will:

Lead high-quality teaching, reasonable adjustments and targeted interventions for students with disability.

Build strong partnerships with staff, families, specialist services and community agencies to coordinate effective support for students with diverse and complex needs.

Contribute to whole-school planning, improvement and decision-making while supporting staff capability and inclusive practice across the school.
