About us:
The Surgical & Orthopaedic Assessment Unit (SOAU) at Cairns Hospital provides specialised assessment and short-stay care for patients requiring surgical, orthopaedic and gynaecological services. As part of the Intensive Care, Women's and Perioperative Services Directorate, SOAU supports rapid assessment, early intervention and multidisciplinary care to optimise patient flow and deliver high-quality outcomes for communities across Far North Queensland.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will....
- Direct, monitor and report on patient progress to achieve optimal health outcomes across the span of Trauma care.
- Provide oversight for Trauma registry database, supervising relevant data collection, collation and entry.
- Develop strategies in consultation with the multidisciplinary team to improve the delivery of trauma services, ensuring the organisations preparedness to receive and care for trauma patients using best practice and current evidence.
- Enhance the professional development of self and others using research and evidence based concepts and participate in collaborative research.
