Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. The administration cadet performs a range of support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire an entry level (mandatory) qualification for employment.

 

About the role

The Administration Cadetship experience involves a variety of support activities and gaining practical on-the-job skills while undertaking full-time tertiary studies toward an entry-level qualification. Cadets are employed on a temporary, part-time basis to complete a 12-week (456 hours or 60-day) paid work placement, scheduled flexibly around their academic commitments throughout the calendar year.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with Queensland Health's values:

  • Successfully complete tertiary study requirements and the 456 hours (60 days) of paid work placement within 12 months.
  • Administration support to frontline services, programs and outcomes.
  • Support daily operations through administrative duties, correspondence management, and cadet-related tasks.
  • Comply with organisational KPIs, service quality standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate across departments and actively participate in professional, multidisciplinary, and departmental meetings.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and ongoing training and development activities.
