At the Longreach School of Distance Education (LSODE) we believe that 'Effort Conquers Distance'. The Longreach School of Distance Education is committed to providing every child with a balanced education in a supportive environment.

If you are passionate about helping students with learning difficulties, social-emotional needs and diverse learning needs to learn and thrive, this could be the position for you.

Our school supports students and families across rural and remote communities throughout Queensland, providing education in a unique distance education environment.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic coach who:

  • Has a strong understanding of the Science of Reading and current evidence-based research about how students learn.
  • Is passionate about supporting students with learning difficulties and social-emotional needs.
  • Can translate research into practical, effective teaching strategies.
  • Can coach and support teachers and teacher aides working directly with students in their homes and communities.
  • Is confident working directly with students to model and deliver high-quality, targeted teaching and intervention.

Experience in Distance Education is an advantage, as this role requires an understanding of how to support effective teaching and learning when students, teachers and teacher aides are working with students remotely.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference for students who may need additional support to access learning, build confidence and thrive at school.
