About us:
Our Community Care Unit provides a vital stepping stone between hospital-based mental health care and independent living. Supporting adults aged 18–64 who are in recovery but still need structured support, the service provides a safe, supervised residential environment where residents can rebuild confidence, develop practical skills and prepare for life in the community.
The team supports residents to manage their physical and mental wellbeing, medications and everyday living skills, while building confidence through cooking, cleaning, shopping, community access, work or study and social connections.
With 20 self-contained one-bedroom units, the setting provides residents with a genuine home-like environment while they work towards greater independence.
About the role:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based mental health care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, intervention, follow-up and evaluation within a Community Mental Health setting.
- Support recovery and better health outcomes through individual care, group work, care coordination, discharge planning and mental health education for consumers and the wider community.
- Build clinical expertise and support others, developing independent clinical judgement while providing education, supervision and guidance to students and less experienced practitioners.
- Contribute to the future of mental health services through quality improvement, research, grant applications, conference presentations, professional development and opportunities to publish in journals.
About you:
- Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work.
- Demonstrated a competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with a basic understanding of recovery focussed Mental Health care.
- Ability to deliver routine adult mental health clinical services utilising time management and prioritisation skills.
- An ability to contribute to the professional development of self and others through education, professional networking and application of evidence-based practice.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $11,047 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
